SMS Expense Tracker
The SMS expense tracker that makes your bank texts add up.
Your bank already texts you every payment. Numero reads those alerts on your phone and turns them into a sorted spending history. No typing, no bank login, no loan offers.
Messages stay on your phone. No bank login. Free.

How does an SMS expense tracker work?
An SMS expense tracker reads the transaction alerts your bank already sends, such as UPI payments, card swipes, and transfers, and turns each one into an expense with an amount, date, and merchant. Numero does this on your phone: it reads only messages from banks and businesses, skips personal chats, and uploads just the facts, never the message text.
Every UPI payment, card tap, and transfer already sends you a text. Most of us swipe them away. By the 20th of the month, those texts are the only record of where the money went, and nobody scrolls back through hundreds of messages to add them up.
Numero reads those alerts for you. Turn on SMS tracking in the app, choose how far back to go (30, 90, or 180 days), and each transaction lands in one sorted history: amount, date, merchant or payee, and a category when the alert makes it clear.
It works alongside your inbox. If your bank texts you about a payment and the shop emails a receipt for the same order, Numero matches them and counts the payment once. Spending from SMS also counts toward your budgets automatically.
How it works
Three steps, then Numero does the rest.
STEP 01
Turn on SMS tracking
In the Numero app, add SMS as a source and allow SMS access. Numero shows exactly what it reads and uploads before you agree.
STEP 02
Pick how far back to go
Import the last 30, 90, or 180 days. Numero reads bank alerts on the phone and sends only the facts, never the messages.
STEP 03
Open the app, see it sorted
New alerts are added whenever you open Numero. Spending lands in categories, merchants, and your budgets on its own.

Subscription renewed
A recurring charge just went through — with the exact amount and what changed since the last cycle.
Refund still pending
A return was accepted but the refund has not landed within the merchant's stated window.

Bank SMS are read on your phone, and only normalized facts such as amount, date, merchant, and last four digits are uploaded. Message text, OTPs, phone numbers, and personal chats are never uploaded. Email access is read-only. You control export and deletion.

No. Only messages from banks and businesses are read, on your phone. Messages from personal phone numbers are filtered out before Numero looks at them.
Only normalized facts: amount, currency, date, whether money went out or came in, the merchant or payee when the alert names one, the last four digits of the account or card, and the transaction reference. Message text, sender IDs, phone numbers, OTPs, and full account numbers are never uploaded.
Yes. UPI, debit and credit card, and bank transfer alerts from supported banks are recognized. When an alert doesn't name a known business, the payment is filed under your bank so it still counts.
Numero matches an SMS and an email for the same payment, using the transaction reference and other evidence, and counts it once. When it can't be sure, it keeps them separate rather than guessing, and you can exclude a duplicate yourself.
New messages are added when you open the app. Importing older history can keep going while you use your phone, and Numero lets you know when it's done. SMS tracking is free on every plan.
iPhones don't let any app read text messages, so SMS tracking is available on Android phones. On iPhone, Numero tracks spending from Gmail, Outlook, manual entry, and receipt scans.
