Wells Fargo
Email alertsSet up Wells Fargo alerts — and keep them out of spam.
Wells Fargo publishes both the delay before alerts start and the exact address they come from, which makes this the easiest bank in the guide to get right first time.
The feature is called
Manage Alerts
You can switch per-transaction email alerts on yourself, from online banking or the app.
By Rohtash Singh and Taniya Das, co-founders of Numero
Wells Fargo offers customisable alerts by text message, email, or mobile push for Wells Fargo Mobile app users, across checking, savings, ATM and debit cards, credit cards, mortgage, home equity, CDs, personal lines, loans and auto loans.
Two published specifics save a lot of confusion. Wells Fargo states that depending on the type of accounts you have, your alerts will begin one to two business days after you set them up — so an empty inbox on day one is expected. And it publishes the address alerts come from, alerts@notify.wellsfargo.com, recommending you add it to your email address book if alerts are landing in spam.
Alerts also appear in the Message Center within Wells Fargo Online, which gives you a way to confirm an alert fired even when the email went astray.
Step by step
What to do, in order.
01
Sign on to Wells Fargo Online and go to Manage Alerts
Manage Alerts is the single screen where everything is configured.
02
Choose an account for which you want to add or edit alerts
Work through each account you hold — the eligible list is broad, so there is probably more to enrol than you expect.
03
Check the boxes to select or de-select specific alerts
Single Purchase Amount, Online/Phone/Mail Purchase, Foreign Transaction and Daily Total Spending are the ones that build a usable record.
04
Enter dollar thresholds and frequency of alerts where appropriate
Set the single purchase threshold to the lowest value allowed so routine spending is included rather than only large purchases.
05
Save your edits
Then add alerts@notify.wellsfargo.com to your address book before testing, and allow one to two business days for alerts to begin.

Alerts also appear in the Message Center in Wells Fargo Online, which is a useful way to confirm an alert fired when the email did not arrive.
Eligible accounts are broad — checking, savings, ATM/debit, credit cards, mortgage, home equity, CDs, personal lines, loans and auto loans.
Menus move. If this does not match what you see:
Wells Fargo’s own page on thisThen Numero turns those alerts into a record.
Once Wells Fargo is emailing you reliably, Numero reads what you authorize in Gmail or Outlook and organizes it — merchants normalized, subscriptions detected, refunds tracked to completion. It never asks for your Wells Fargo login, card number, or OTP, and there is nowhere in the product to enter them.

Wells Fargo alerts, answered
Why have my Wells Fargo alerts not started?
Most likely because they have not had time to. Wells Fargo states that depending on the type of accounts you have, alerts will begin one to two business days after you set them up. After that window, check spam and confirm you added alerts@notify.wellsfargo.com to your address book.
What address do Wells Fargo alerts come from?
alerts@notify.wellsfargo.com. Wells Fargo publishes this specifically so you can add it to your email address book, which is its recommended fix when alerts appear in spam or junk folders.
Which Wells Fargo alerts are best for tracking spending?
Single Purchase Amount, Online/Phone/Mail Purchase, Foreign Transaction and Daily Total Spending. Set the single purchase threshold to the lowest value allowed so routine spending is included rather than only large purchases.
