Statements by emailSBI alerts only fire above ₹5,000 by default.
SBI is SMS-first, and its default threshold excludes most everyday spending. The dependable email from SBI is the statement, not a per-transaction alert.
The feature is called
SMS alerts / e-statement
The reliable email is the statement or advice, not a per-transaction alert. Turn on e-statements and let merchant receipts cover the detail.

SBI is the clearest example in this guide of a bank where per-transaction email is not the answer. SBI's transaction alerting runs over SMS to your registered mobile, and the default is transactions of ₹5,000 and above — so a month of ordinary spending can pass without a single alert.
Two things are worth doing. Lower that threshold so smaller transactions are covered. And register for the statement of account by email, which is the dependable email record SBI does provide. For per-transaction detail in your inbox, merchant receipts will give you far more than an SBI alert ever would.
Note also that the ground has shifted: YONO 2.0 merged the old OnlineSBI portal and the YONO mobile app into a single platform. Guides that tell you to navigate OnlineSBI's e-Services menus are describing an interface that no longer exists in that form.
What to look for
What State Bank of India actually documents.
SBI's default is to alert on transactions of ₹5,000 and above. Lowering that limit is the single highest-value change you can make to an SBI account's alerting.
YONO 2.0 is now the single platform — the old OnlineSBI portal and the YONO app were merged. Look under service requests rather than for an OnlineSBI e-Services menu.
Profile-related service requests are where the email ID on your account is changed. Do that before anything else if it is stale.
SBI can send the statement of account by email. Treat that as your reliable email record rather than expecting per-transaction email.
If you have never had internet banking credentials, you can create them in the YONO app using your ATM card details.

Worth knowing
The things that catch State Bank of India customers out.
SBI's default is to alert only on transactions of ₹5,000 and above. Ordinary daily spending falls entirely below that line.
YONO 2.0 merged OnlineSBI and the YONO app, so older instructions referencing OnlineSBI menus will not match what you see.
SBI's real-time channel is SMS. The dependable email from SBI is the statement, not a per-transaction alert.
You can create internet banking credentials directly in YONO with your ATM card details if you have never had them.
Menus move. If this does not match what you see:
State Bank of India’s own page on thisThen Numero turns those alerts into a record.
Once State Bank of India is emailing you reliably, Numero reads what you authorize in Gmail or Outlook and organizes it — merchants normalized, subscriptions detected, refunds tracked to completion. It never asks for your State Bank of India login, card number, or OTP, and there is nowhere in the product to enter them.

Does SBI send email alerts for every transaction?
Not as a rule. SBI's per-transaction alerting is SMS to your registered mobile, defaulting to transactions of ₹5,000 and above. What SBI does send by email is the statement of account. If you want per-transaction detail in an inbox, merchant receipts are the better source.
How do I get alerts for small SBI transactions?
Lower the alert threshold. The default only covers ₹5,000 and above, which excludes most everyday spending. Lowering the limit is the single most useful change you can make to an SBI account's alerting.
Where did OnlineSBI go?
YONO 2.0 merged the OnlineSBI portal and the YONO mobile app into one integrated platform. Guides that tell you to navigate OnlineSBI's e-Services menus are describing an interface that no longer exists in that form.
